When I start a Design Consultation, one of the first questions I ask the senior is how would you describe your style? Cameron answered modern when it came to the look of his session. I couldn’t have been more excited! I had never been asked to do a modern senior session before, and I was up for the challenge!
My brain immediately went to the Pearl District in Portland with its tall and shiny buildings which was a good starting point. We also ended up adding a studio as his second location which was just what we needed to take his session to the next level!
Cameron and I had gone back and forth with outfits until the night before, and it was worth it! We had over 12 outfits to choose from, but when it was all said and done we landed on 6 outfits. These were the outfits that I thought would photograph beautifully and show his personality.
I also want to mention how much I appreciated his mom Cindy during this experience. She made it clear to me in the very first meeting that it wasn’t about what she wanted, but that the session would be 100% about Cameron. She wanted to make sure it represented exactly who he is during this part of his life and I just loved that! I felt like having that green light is what made Cameron’s session so special.
